I’m writing to express my shock regarding the recent suspension of all US military aid to Ukraine. This decision signals a dangerous abandonment of our ally and undermines the principles we claim to uphold.
History has shown the critical importance of security guarantees in Ukraine. The lack of security guarantees is what allowed this war to start in the first place. They are a reasonable thing for Ukraine to ask for in peace negotiations.
There is no ambiguity – Ukraine is the victim in this war. Ukraine deserves a just and fair peace.
Reinstating aid is not merely about providing military support; it is about demonstrating our unwavering dedication to defending democratic values. Abandoning Ukraine weakens our standing on the global stage and emboldens aggressors worldwide.
